At the same time, he acted as a director in about 55 films. V. Shantaram made a film in 1967 'Boond Jo Ban Gayee Moti.' Jitendra was cast in the lead role in the film but very few people know that the film was not the first lead actress Mumtaz but Shantaram's daughter Rajshree. Yes, according to the reports, Rajshree arrived late on the first day of the shooting set of 'Boond Jo Ban Gayee Moti' and disciplined Shantaram did not like her daughter arriving late.
This led to the angry filmmaker expelling his daughter from the film and casting Mumtaz in her place. It was only after this film that Mumtaz became a popular actress in the Hindi film industry.
