During the Corona era, work was on to bring the stranded Indians abroad under the Vande Bharat Mission. Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that about 1,25,000 Indians have returned home from different countries under the mission. 6,037 Indian citizens have been brought back from abroad.                                                        

Puri said in a tweet that, 'Vande India remains a mission of hope and happiness for stranded and troubled Indians around the world. So far, about 1.25 lakh Indians have returned via these flights and about 43 thousand People have been sent out from India. Today (Tuesday) 6,037 people have returned from different countries.'' Last month, the Ministry of External Affairs said that 2,50,087 Indian nationals stranded abroad since the start of the Vande Bharat Mission. Also, Go Air has operated 28 international private charter flights under the third phase of the Vande Bharat Mission till 20 June 2020, with a total of three flights from Kuwait to Ahmedabad, Dammam to Lucknow and Abu Dhabi to Ahmedabad. 

A total of 2,451 Indian nationals flew from Kuwait to Ahmedabad, Kannur, Kochi and Lucknow. 549 citizens from Dubai to Kannur and Cochin, 544 citizens from Abu Dhabi to Ahmedabad, Kannur and Kochi, 541 Civilians from Muscat to Kannur and Lucknow, 528 Indian citizens from Doha to Kannur and Bangalore and 351 citizens from Dammam to Kannur and Lucknow. International flights are banned worldwide due to Coronavirus. Evacuation of Indians stranded abroad due to Coronavirus epidemic. The Vande Bharat Mission was started from May 7 for the mission. This mission is in its third phase. The third phase of the mission has started from June 11. It will operate 550 flights including 191 feeder flights.
