HYDERABAD: Dilip Vengsarkar, a former captain and Padmashree, launched the Indian Schools Board for Cricket (ISBC), a new National Cricket Board, on Monday.
ISBC is a non-profit organisation nurturinf and groom young cricketing talent across India, particulary in rural areas (and under privileged) to give a new future and opportunity to the hidden and promising rural cricket talent.
The Board's founder and CEO, Sunil Babu Kolanapaka, stated, "ISBC has delved into developing school cricketers. The Telangana State Premier League (TSPL) was a huge success with 5120 school cricketers, 31 Telangana State districts taking part in the competition, and 550 matches where the villagers witnessed some extraordinary cricketing talent. The "Indian Schools Board Cricket" has now begun to cultivate this talent. Dilip Vengsarkar said, "It is a terrific initiative. Thank you to the board members for this opportunity. The young people of our generation will benefit from this by having a fantastic opportunity and platform. Good and talented people, especially those from rural areas, will be guided in the proper direction. A golden opportunity will be presented to students with hidden skills. "India required an organised system to generate school cricketers, which the ISBC would do," claimed Ankesh Rathore, president. A "School World Cup" will be held by the end of 2023, according to secretary Padam Raj Parakh, who added: "We are pleased to have a school group comprising of 19 countries.
The cricket season for 2023 will begin in the months of July and August, according to ISBC. After December 2022, the timetable and participation will be revealed. Academic scholarships will be available through ISTL, and ICC level academies in India and overseas will offer specialist cricket training.
The following individuals have been unanimously selected to serve on the ISBC for a three-year term: president Ankesh Rathore of Rajasthan, vice presidents Sandhya Agarwal of Madhya Pradesh, Y Sudarsana Babu of Andhra Pradesh, and Sangram Lonkar of Maharashtra, secretary Padam Raj Parakh of Rajasthan, joint secretary Mohammad Yousuf of Tamil Nadu, Dr. S Senthil Kumar of Tamil Nadu, treasure (Rajasthan).
