Bengali cinema veteran Santu Mukhopadhyay died on Wednesday evening at his Kolkata residence after a long illness. He was 69. The actor is known for his performances in films like Sansar Simante and Bhalobasa Bhalobasa.
The cause of his death is said to be cardiac arrest. He was suffering from carcinoma for a long time and was admitted to a private hospital on 4 February because of blood sugar and high blood pressure. In the last week of February, he was discharged and brought home. The 69-year-old actor leaves behind two daughters, one of whom is Swastika.
Let us tell you that Santu Mukhopadhyay started his film career at the age of 24 with director Tapan Sinha's film. Santu Mukhopadhyay was also a well-known actor on the small screen. He last appeared in the film Sanjbhati.
