Veteran journalist Radhakrishnan Rajaram Narwekar, passed away this morning. He was ex-President of the Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh, and former editor of the Sakal in Mumbai.

Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed grief over the demise of veteran journalist. He has written a condolence message saddened on the death of such great personality. He wrote “I was saddened to know about the demise of senior journalist, former Editor of Sakal and former President of Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh Shri Radhakrishna Narvekar. During his long journalistic career, Shri Narvekar enlightened readers on diverse issues and mentored several generations of journalists.” He further added “Shri Narvekar was a witness to all major events in the State right from its inception. In his demise, Maharashtra has lost an enlightened journalist and a kind-hearted human being.” Former union minister Suresh Prabhu also consoled his demise.

Meanwhile, the state on Monday reported 15,077 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest since March 15, taking the caseload to 57,46,892, while 184 more deaths pushed the toll to 95,344, the state health department said.
