Kolkata: The Visva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has planned to take out over 1,000 rallies or Shobha yatras across West Bengal on the occasion of Ram Navami. This is considered to be very important to boost the morale of Hindus in Bengal. At the same time, in view of the continuous violence in Bengal, it is a big challenge to ensure that these processions are completed smoothly.

Speaking to the media, Saurish Mukherjee, senior spokesperson of the Bengal division of the VHP, has said, "They could not have celebrated Ram Navami in a grand manner, as the construction of ram temple in Ayodhya started during corona epidemic, so they have planned to celebrate Ram Navami in the grandest way in the whole of Bengal in 2022.'' According to the report, Mukherjee has said, "In all, we have plans to take out more than 1,000 Shobha yatras in West Bengal. In Kolkata also, 20 rallies will be taken out on Ram Navami. Due to the Mamata Banerjee government's obstruction in West Bengal, it is being said that the VHP people will not seek the permission of the Bengal police, but the local administration and police stations will be informed about the procession. In such a situation, the question arises if the Bengal Police does not give permission, what will the VHP do?''

Responding to this, Mukherjee said, "We don't think permission is needed to take out a Shobha yatra on Ram Navami, but we will inform the police." Even if they don't allow it, we will still take out rallies on Ram Navami. Since, according to tradition in the procession of Ram Navami, there is also a law of worship of Ayudha puja or worship of Astra-Shastras. In such a situation, in view of the recent incidents of violence in Bengal, the cooperation of the administration is being emphasized. Mukherjee also pointed out that the police administration of West Bengal needs to ensure that miscreants do not become obstructionists in any of the VHP programmes during Ram Navami. In such a situation, it has to be seen how the state government reacts to the VHP's rally in the coming time.
