Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir YouTuber Faisal Wani, who posted a graphic video of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma beheading him, has been granted bail by a court. First Class Judicial Magistrate of Srinagar Ajay Kumar, while giving bail to Wani, said that the accused neither had any danger of escaping nor had any criminal history. No purpose of keeping him in custody will also be served. In his order, the judge said, "The accused has been in police custody for the last seven days. Offences under consideration are not punished extremely severely under the law. Thus, there is no apprehension of the accused running away from the path of justice. Keeping the accused person in any kind of custody will not serve any useful purpose. It would be unfair not to grant bail in such a case. '

After the video of Wani beheading Nupur Sharma went viral, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested him on June 11, 2022. A case has been registered against Faisal under sections 505 and 506 of the IPC at Safaa Kadal police station in Srinagar. Along with running YouTube under the name 'Deep Pen Fitness', Wani also runs a gym. Earlier, Faisal had apologised by deleting his old tweets and videos and said, "It is true that I made an objectionable video. But my aim was not to promote violence. If anyone has suffered anything because of me, I sincerely apologize. '

In his apology video, Wani had said, "Last night, I posted a video that was about Nupur Sharma and was made from VFX. The video went viral very quickly. Because of this, I got stuck in 'innocent'. I have no intention of offending any other religion, because our Islam teaches us to respect another religion. Let us know that in the video of Nupur Sharma's beheading, he was carrying an axe in his hand. In the video, Wani had said, "No action, no warrant... only and only one punishment of Gustakh-e-Rasool... sir pen." After this, in the picture of Nupur Sharma made with the help of graphics in the video, he cuts his neck with an axe. Then lifts that severed  head with disgust and throws it away.
