Dehradun: Several parts of Uttarakhand have been receiving incessant rain for the past two days, which has also raised the water level of rivers and caused landslides at many places. Meanwhile, a portion of the Ranipokhari bridge coming from the road connecting Rishikesh to Dehradun has been damaged, causing several vehicles passing by to flow into the rivers. The video is also going viral on social media where people are seen running out of vehicles.

In a tweet, the police said, "A portion of the bridge over Jakhan river at Ranipokhari on Rishikesh road has collapsed due to heavy rains and strong flow of water. The common man is requested, please use other alternative routes without using the said route. A police force has also been deployed at the spot.''

Earlier, after heavy rains, the Maldevta-Sahastradhara link route in Dehradun was also completely submerged in the river after heavy rains. Debris has entered the houses of the people here, adding to their problems. The road and the book here have been badly damaged after heavy rains.
