Shimla: Demanding legal recognition for the formation of the Swarn Aayog in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the Devbhoomi Kshatriya Sanghatana on Wednesday staged a violent protest. The police and the district administration had sounded an alert over the proposed protest, asking people to avoid unnecessary travel in the city on the Shimla-Chandigarh national highway. Due to the demonstration and stoppage of movement of outstation vehicles, vehicles up to 10 km long have been jammed.
