Violent gunfight started between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district

Shopian: A day after another encounter in Budgam, A violent gunfight has broken out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district. The attack comes just days ahead of India's 70th Republic Day celebrations.

According to sources reports , around 4-6 terrorists are believed to be holed up in Shopian's Zainapora area and armed forces are engaging them in a violent gunbattle. Security forces were conducting a regular combing operation when the terrorists started firing. 

On Sunday, Pakistani military once again violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked fired at Indian forces in Kathua and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir along the International Border and Line of Control. However, there were no casualties in the crossfire.While ,On Monday, terrorists opened fire at security forces in Budgam and two of them were killed in disciplinary firing.

Earlier, at starting of January, Jammu and Kashmir was reported  grenade attacks on January 18. The first grenade attack was reported from Srinagar’s Lal Chowk, the second attack took place in Gagran area of South Kashmir's Shopian and the third attack was carried out at a police station in Pulwama. Though no loss of life or injuries was reported in the attack on a CRPF bunker located at Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) in Lal Chowk area, the CRPF bunker, as well as some shops and cars, were damaged in the attack. An official said the grenade exploded on the roadside.
