New Delhi: Experts and former cricketers have been constantly raising questions about former Team India captain Virat Kohli's place in the team. With Kohli's name not being named in the T20 series against the West Indies, the issue has once again heated up. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not made any official statement about Kohli's absence, but according to media reports, run machine Virat Kohli himself had requested the board rest.

Let us know that even before the official announcement of the T20 team, it was reported that Kohli and Bumrah want to take a rest. Bumrah has been given rest under workload management, while the selectors had no intention of resting Kohli. However, Kohli, 33, had asked the BCCI to keep him out of the series. The BCCI's initial plan was to select the strongest possible team, including Kohli, but the board had to take a decision to drop Kohli. A BCCI source told the media, "The team management and selectors wanted to feed the T20 team with full strength from the current tour of England. However, Kohli insisted that he wanted a break and did not want to go on the West Indies tour.''

The source said, "Jasprit Bumrah has been given rest under his workload management. Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya need to rest from the ODIs.'' Let me tell you that Virat has been getting continuous breaks for the last few months. He was also not picked in the squad for the T20I against South Africa. However, this break has come as a result of poor form, which Kohli has been struggling with for quite some time.
