New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday distributed 71,056 appointment letters via video conference to newly hired Rozgar Mela recruits, asserting that this demonstrates the government's commitment to giving young people access to government employment.
The PM, on the occasion, while mentioning that the Mela has been held in Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, UP, Maharashtra and  Andaman Islands, highlighted that the initiative to provide job opportunities to the youth will carry on uninterrupted and will help in nation-building.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi said that initiatives like "Make in India" and "Vocal for Local" are generating employment and prospects for self-employment in the nation. The Production Link Initiative (PLI) programme was cited by the PM as a great source of new employment prospects.

"It is expected to generate 60 lakh new employment possibilities via the PLI plan alone. All of these programmes, including Make in India and Vocal for Local, are expanding job and self-employment prospects in the nation. This implies that there are more and more prospects for both government and non-government occupations "PM Modi said.

In the Amrit Kaal, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to turning India into a developed country and said that the new recruits would serve as the nation's "saarthi" during this time.

"You are taking on this new duty in a unique time. The nation has arrived in Amrit Kaal. The decision to transform India into a developed country in this time period was made by us, the population. You'll be the nation's "saarthi" in order to fulfil this resolution" he said.
The Prime Minister said, "All of you who are going to assume this new responsibility are being appointed as a representative of the Central Government in front of the rest of the people of the country. He also exhorted the new hires to work on capacity building to boost government efficiency.

"I would urge everyone to focus on creating capacity in order to improve government efficiency. Letters of appointment are now being distributed to over 71,000 youths in 45 cities. This will make many of families happy and bring joy into their homes " he said, adding that  the Make in India and Vocal for Local programmes are giving young people new employment opportunities.

"Every programme, whether it's Make in India or Vocal4Local, is giving young people new employment options. In every region of India, these opportunities are reaching our Yuva. The space industry has benefited from the entry of private players. India recently saw how the private sector successfully launched a space rocket" he said.

At the Rozgar Mela earlier today, PM Modi used a video conference to introduce the Karmayogi Prarambh module, an online orientation course for all new hires. The Rozgar Mela is a step in the direction of the Prime Minister's promise to give the creation of jobs the highest priority.

The Rozgar Mela is expected to serve as a catalyst for increased job creation and give young people worthwhile possibilities for empowerment and direct engagement in national development, the PMO said. 75,000 newly appointed employees under Rozgar Mela received appointment letters earlier in October.

The statement said that the new appointees would receive their actual copies of their appointment letters at 45 locations across the nation (with the exception of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh).

Posts for teachers, lecturers, nurses, nursing officers, doctors, pharmacists, radiologists, and other technical and paramedical positions are now being filled in addition to the categories of positions already filled. The Ministry of Home Affairs is filling a sizable number of positions in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
