NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu thanked members of the House on Wednesday for their patience during debates on the Chartered Accounts Bill and the Bill to Reunify the Delhi Municipal Corporations.

"I am overjoyed to witness the Deputy Chairman (Harivansh) and Members' patience, which cuts across party lines. The Ministers in charge of the Bill's responses were incisive but short. "I was overjoyed, and I made a note to mention it in my memoirs," Naidu recalled.

He also stated that the debates were really impressive, and that others had contacted him to inquire about them.

He said that the performance of the six members was quite remarkable during the cultural programme hosted at his residence on the occasion of the retirement of 72 Members of the Upper House on March 31. "I appreciated the six Members' performance, which was broadcast on Sansad TV yesterday." Those who were unable to attend the event can see it on Sansad TV's Youtube site, he stated.

Some of the members are extremely talented, said the Vice President. While continuing with the House proceedings, the Chairman also stated that the notices given by the Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, Sushmita Dev, Nadimul Haq, and other Members under Rule 267 to suspend the House's.
