One of the most renowned actors of the Industry, Naseeruddin Shah is all set to essay the role of king Akbar in the new web series Taj - Divided by Blood. During the promotional event of his upcoming project the veteran actors opens up about why south films like Kantara, Pushpa, KGF, and RRR are doing so well however the films of Bollywood A-lister are struggling on the Box office.

Naseeruddin Shah explaining why he feels that the regional films are doing well said, "Even the commercial movies made in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu are imaginative. They are original. They may be crass in their taste, but the execution is always flawless. I have found this for a very long time.”

He further narrates his point said, “Even their song picturization, even in those corny films of Jeetendra and Sridevi, insane as it may be with hundreds of matkas (clay pots) in a line, but at least it was an original idea.It wasn’t just a line of girls dancing not quite together and one central dancer. So, I really think South Indian films work harder and it is no mystery why their films are doing better than most of the Hindi cinema."

Speaking about the web series Taj – Divided by Blood, it is a new web series centred on the Mughal dynasty during the rule of Emperor Akbar and the civil war between his sons with Shah playing the emperor. The series also stars Aashim Gulati, Taha Shah Badussha, Shubham Kumar Mehra, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sandhya Mridul, and Dharmendra. The show will begin streaming on Zee5 from March 3.
