Weather Alert: Two Western Disturbances to Hit North-West India

New Delhi: The upcoming days are expected to bring a significant change in weather across various parts of the country, especially in North India, where hot temperatures have been prevalent. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of rain and storms due to the arrival of two western disturbances in North-West India.

The first Western Disturbance is forecasted to hit the region on April 10, followed by the second on April 13. This weather system is anticipated to bring thunderstorms, lightning, and rain to Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on April 10 and 11. Additionally, there's a forecast of rain and storms between April 13 and 15. Rajasthan is expected to experience rainfall between April 10 and 14, while Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana may witness rain, thunderstorms, and lightning between April 13 and 15.

Eastern and Central India are also likely to experience light to moderate rain from April 8 to 11, along with a storm warning. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is expected in Northeast India over the next two days, followed by a decrease in intensity.

In the past 24 hours, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, North Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Telangana have experienced heatwave to severe heatwave conditions. Conversely, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, and Odisha recorded light to moderate rainfall.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 17.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees lower than the seasonal average. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the minimum temperature will range between 17 to 19 degrees Celsius until Friday, with the possibility of drizzles in some areas on Thursday.
