New Delhi: Pollution is at its peak in the country's capital Delhi till 3 pm on Sunday. Due to pollution and smoke, visibility has reduced and there is a mist-like atmosphere. Trains have to be lit on the roads during the day. People are feeling burning and numbness in their eyes even inside their homes.
The meteorological department says that a similar situation may persist for the next 24 hours, that is until Monday evening. After Monday evening, the situation is expected to improve marginally as there is a possibility of wind speed in the late evening. This is expected to reduce the level of pollution. According to the information shared by Skymet, from Monday evening, the flow of winds may increase somewhat, due to which there is a possibility of some relief from pollution.
According to the India Meteorological Department, due to the Maha Cyclone, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of Punjab on November 7. This can also reduce the amount of smoke and dust due to pollution in the winds flowing towards Delhi, due to which pollution is expected to decrease. But for the next 24 hours, it is estimated that Delhi will remain under heavy pollution.
