New Delhi: With the end of the month of May, there are chances of getting rid of scorching heat in many states. Soon the monsoon is going to start showing its effect across India. According to the Meteorological Department, Monsoon will enter Kerala first. Monsoon rains will start in Kerala at the end of May.

It may take time to reach Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, the entry of monsoon in Delhi is expected to be between 25 to 30 June. According to the India Meteorological Department, due to the formation of cyclonic conditions, the southwest monsoon may knock over Kerala on June 1. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had said in its forecast released on May 15 that the monsoon could knock over the southern state on June 5. It is 4 days later than the normal date of monsoon.

Generally, monsoon arrives on June 1 in Kerala. However, due to the formation of cyclonic conditions over the Bay of Bengal, it is expected to help in the progress of monsoon. The department has said that 'An area of low pressure can be formed in the southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea from May 31 to June 4. This situation is favourable for bringing monsoon in Kerala on 1 June. The Meteorological Department has also informed that this year there will be average rainfall in the country.
