New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that a low-pressure area is expected to form and move west-northwards on Thursday. With this, it is likely to be more strong by Saturday morning. It is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm over the west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours i.e. till Monday. Let us know that on October 24, the festival of Diwali will be celebrated in the country.
A trough is moving from the cyclonic circulation to the Tamil Nadu coast in the south Bay of Bengal in the lower troposphere levels from the north Andaman Sea and its neighbourhood, the IMD has said. Due to this, heavy rains may occur at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep till Saturday (October 22).
The Meteorological Department has said that 'On October 19-22, heavy rain is expected at various places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At the same time, conditions are expected to become favourable for the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha.'
