New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has said that conversions and migration from border areas are causing population imbalance. He has appealed for strict implementation of anti-conversion laws. Hosabale made the statement while addressing the media in Prayagraj on Wednesday (October 19) after the conclusion of the four-day meeting of the All India Working Committee of the Sangh.

RSS general secretary Hosabale said concerns regarding conversions in the country were also raised at the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting. Also, the meeting appealed to formulate a population policy and implement it equally on all. Hosabale claimed that due to conversion, the population of Hindus has come down in many places in the country and its consequences have also been seen. He said infiltration from border areas has led to population imbalance, which has created social and economic tensions. Hosabale claimed that population imbalance has led to the division of several countries, including India, in the past.

The Hosabale leader also cited the decline in the number of members in families as one of the reasons for the population imbalance. Dattatreya Hosabale claimed that in the last 40-50 years, due to the emphasis on population control, the average size of a family has come down from 3.4 to 1.9. Due to this, the population of the elderly is likely to increase compared to the youth in the coming years.
