On Thursday, the south-west monsoon gave a strike in Maharashtra. Some other areas, including the coastal areas of the state, have received heavy rainfall. According to the report of news agency ANI, monsoon clouds have also encamped over Odisha. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in the southern and coastal districts of the state, especially in Malkangiri and Koraput. Meteorologists say that due to the low pressure on the Bay of Bengal, the south-west monsoon is making very good progress.

In the report of Sky Met Weather, a private weather forecasting agency, has said that the area of cyclonic winds over southern Gujarat and adjoining north-eastern Arabian Sea remains the same as before. According to the agency, there could be heavy rainfall in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Gangetic West Bengal and parts of Northeast India during the next 24 hours. Not only this, but light to moderate rain is also expected in interior Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region and some places of Chhattisgarh. Light rains are possible over South Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Punjab, Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh and parts of Uttar Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department has said that the advancing monsoon will cause heavy rainfall in different areas of Odisha for the next two days. Meteorologists predict that the Monsoon may be knocking over parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai and parts of West Bengal including Kolkata in the next 24 to 48 hours. It is estimated that as the monsoon progresses, the rain will increase in many areas of the country. This monsoon rain will help in life for farming, but farmers are worried due to the outbreak of grasshoppers in different areas of the country.
