The man was detained by the GRP at Mathura (Mathura) station for allegedly stopping the train by pulling the chain. According to reports, the man was arrested under the Railways Act. However, the accused was later released on bail. According to information, a man named Manish along with his mother and relatives were travelling from New Delhi to Mathura. Manish says that when Mathura came, my mother was dancing and the train was running. Since I couldn't jump on the platform with my mother and relative from a moving train, I pulled the chain.

Under Section 141 of the Railway Act, 1989, there is a fine of a maximum of Rs. 1000 or imprisonment up to one year if caught in chain pulling. Usually, the accused were released with fines. And non-payment of fines was punishable only in nominal cases. According to the rule, there is no provision for punishment if a person draws a chain for lack of any urgent service such as medical emergency, electricity, water, toilets.
