Kolkata: The bodies of a teenager and his mother have been recovered inside their flat in the southern part of the Parnashree area of Kolkata, the capital of Bengal. Six persons have been taken into custody in this regard. This information was given by the Kolkata police on Tuesday. An official of Parnashree police station said that the blood-stained bodies of 13-year-old Tomojit Mandal and his mother Sushmita were found lying in their flat and the main door of the flat was locked from inside.

On returning from his job, the teenager's father Tapan Mandal broke open the door when he did not get any response from inside the house and later informed the police about the incident. "We are trying to find out if anything has disappeared from the flat," police said. The door was locked from within and there is no clue of anyone forcibly entering. Tapan Mandal had to break the door with the help of his neighbor.

"We have taken six persons into custody in this connection," the official said. All the accused have nothing to do with the family. We are talking to Tapan Mandal as well as neighbours. He said police are also looking for a man who taught coaching to Tomojit who came to his house on Gopal Mishra Road on Monday evening. He said a dog squad has been deployed to ascertain the clues.
