New Delhi: Former West Indies cricket team captain Kieron Pollard on Monday became the first cricketer in the world to play 600 T20 matches. The hard-hitting batsman achieved this feat during the Manchester Originals vs London Spirits match of The Hundred Tournament played at Lord's. The career of a cricketer ends by scoring 600 runs in T20 cricket, but this Caribbean legend has played 600 T20 matches.

Pollard made sure to make the occasion memorable as he smashed an unbeaten 34 off just 11 balls with the help of four and four towering sixes. Pollard's T20 career has been excellent. He has scored 11,723 runs in 600 matches at an average of 31.34. His best performance has been 104 runs. Pollard has scored a century and 56 half-centuries in this format. He has taken 309 wickets with the best bowling figures of 4 for 15.  

Pollard has played cricket for several T20 teams/franchises, most notably west Indies, the home team Trinidad and Tobago, Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League, Dhaka Gladiators and Dhaka Dynamites in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Pollard has appeared on the field for teams like Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
