Lucknow: Annapurna Singh, the wife of Bahubali Brijesh Singh, is contesting as an independent candidate from the MLC seat of Varanasi-Chandauli-Bhadohi local body. Speaking to the media on Saturday, Annapurna Singh said that she will take forward the work of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the upliftment of women after winning.
In fact, Annapurna Singh was out to inspect the polling stations in view of the MLC elections being held today (April 9). She also reached the municipal polling station in Varanasi, during the interaction here, she praised the Yogi government for women and said that whatever has been done in Maharajji's government, no previous government has done it. With the blessings of the same people, I will follow in his (Yogi's) footsteps, because women are at the forefront.
When asked if the AAP was contesting against Yogi and the BJP, she replied that it was not against them, but about the state and the country. If they are doing well for the country, I can do well too. Responding to the allegation against her husband Brijesh Singh of using money power and muscle power in the MLC elections, she said, "I don't have to deny anything about it, the world is watching." Responding to a question on being confident of victory, Annapurna Singh said why to celebrate the victory in advance, let April 12 come.
