New Delhi: 29 years ago, on December 10, 1992, Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, suddenly went missing. When Kuldeep did not return for several days, the family also went from place to place and started searching for him. Wherever someone informed about his sighting, the family members would reach there, but there was no trace of Kuldeep. When finally received Kuldeep first message in 1996, 4 years after his disappearance, the family's shattered hopes were dashed.

Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Makwal, was lodged in barrack number four of Pakistan's Kot Lakhpat Central Jail Lahore. This was the idea from where the family members came to know about Kuldeep Singh. The mother's eyes have also become stoned in the last 29 years as she looks at the way to meet Kuldeep. But tears of joy are now flowing with these eyes. Kuldeep Singh's mother Krishna Devi says she hoped to meet her son before she could lose her breath.

The mother said her son is very courageous. He does not know how he went to Pakistan, but he certainly expected his son Sakushal to return one day. It is only after three decades that God has heard his prayer. People close to the family said Kuldeep, who arrived in India from the Wagah border, has been handed over to Jammu and Kashmir police after an investigation in Amritsar. As per the protocol, he will be taken to Jammu JIC after which he will be handed over to the Kathua police and then to family members.
