Patna: Bihar Police on Friday (July 15) arrested a 26-year-old man in Patna for allegedly propagating anti-India views through a WhatsApp group run by him. Ahmed Danish alias Tahir, a resident of Phulwari Sharif in Patna, has also been found to be associated with the Pakistan-based extremist group Tehreek-e-Labbaik.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manavjit Singh Dhillon said, "Tahir was running a WhatsApp group called 'Ghazwa-e-Hind', through which he propagated anti-India views. Many foreign nationals, including people from Pakistan and Bangladesh, were involved in that group. His phone has been seized and the numbers are being traced. The SSP further said, "The investigation has also revealed that Tahir was also associated with the radical organisation Tehreek-e-Labbaik. He was also in constant touch with Faizan, a Pakistani national. Investigators found that messages despising the national flag and symbols were being shared in the group. He said Tahir was the admin of the group and was also in touch with several other foreign groups.''
On the other hand, Mohammad Jalaluddin, a retired police officer from Jharkhand, and a former member of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) who is also an active member of the PFI and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Athar Parvez were also arrested in the case. It is also being told that the arrested accused was plotting to attack PM Narendra Modi during the centenary year celebrations of the Bihar Assembly. PM Modi had visited Patna on July 12, while Parvez and Jalaluddin were arrested from the Phulwari Sharif area on July 11.
