Electric power is quickly proving itself in the realm of speed, and anyone who has any doubts about the propulsion capabilities of a battery vs a traditional engine has plenty of instances to back up their claims. One such bike is Damon Motors' 2022 HyperFighter Colossus electric sports bike, which has piqued the interest of many at the current CES 2022.

The HyperFighter Colossus doesn't just appear like it was made for speed; it can really outrun its opponents in a fight. The electric sports bike, with a peak speed of 273 kmph, is clearly aiming to be a preferred alternative for people seeking an adrenaline rush without the guilt of emissions. Powering the ultra capable electric sports bike is a 20 kWh battery that enables it to travel 235 kms before needing a recharge. There is 200 hp for the taking and a sprint to 100 kmph takes all of three seconds.

With great speed comes the necessity for responsible riding, therefore the HyperFighter Colossus is outfitted with a slew of radars, sensors, and cameras to give a 360-degree advanced danger warning system. Electrek reported CTO Derek Dorresteyn as stating, "HyperFighter pays homage to yesterday's streetfighters while looking to the future with unrivalled safety and performance that Damon is recognised for across the world." "We've created a fantastic, technologically advanced motorbike that will appeal to both seasoned streetfighter riders and first-time riders."

All of this, of course, comes with a hefty price tag. The HyperFighter Colossus has a retail price of $35,000, and pre-orders for customers in the United States are now available. However, there is some good news for those who aren't quite ready to invest a lot of money on this model. Damon Motors also has two more HyperFighter variants in the works. These versions are likely to be less competent and have fewer body kits than the Colossus. However, the overarching goal is to prioritise performance and safety.
