Flowers have their own importance in Indian religious culture. The flowers are said to contain divine powers, and they work to increase the power of the devotees. It is said that worshipping the deity with flowers gives wealth. Lakshmi Maa never stays in one place. Now today we are going to tell you about that story when Goddess Lakshmi was cursed by her own husband, Lord Vishnu.

Mythology - According to a legend, once Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi were sitting in their Dham Vaikunth Lok. Revanth arrived there. Revanth came there riding on the horse named High: Shrava. The beauty of that horse could not be compared to any other horse. Lakshmi was fascinated by seeing that horse. She stared at him without blinking. When Vishnu saw that Lakshmi was charmed by the beauty of Ashwa, he wanted to divert her attention from Ashwa. Vishnu's efforts had no effect on Lakshmi.

Even after repeated efforts of Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi was not distracted. Seeing this as his disobedience, Lord Vishnu became very angry and cursed Lakshmi that you are disobeying me because of being lost in the beauty of this horse. When Lakshmi came to know about the curse she got from Lord Vishnu's anger. She realizes her mistake and starts apologizing to Vishnu and saying that I will not be able to stay away from you. Please take back your curse. Hearing Lakshmi's prayer, Vishnu's anger subsided and he said that the curse cannot be taken back. But you can get freedom from this curse. When you will give birth to a son in the form of a horse, then you are free from this curse and return back to me. Lakshmi, who has become a horse due to the curse of Lord Vishnu, reached the bank of Yamuna river and she started doing penance to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati appeared to Lakshmi after seeing Lakshmi's harsh penance. Lakshmi prayed for her salvation. Lord Shiva told Lakshmi that you should not worry. We will explain to Vishnu that he should take the form of a horse and produce a son to that you can return to him soon. Lakshmi was relieved to hear this. Now she was happy because in this way she will soon be free from the curse and go back to her lord Vishnu.

After Lord Shiva left from there, Lakshmi again got absorbed in penance. After a long time, even if Vishnu did not come, Lakshmi again remembered Lord Shiva. On remembering Lord Shiva appeared and asked Goddess Lakshmi to be patient. Vishnu will definitely come near you in the form of a horse. Upon reaching Kailash, Lord Shiva started thinking about how to send Vishnu as a horse to Lakshmi. In the end, he sent one of his gana-chitraupas as an emissary and sent him to Vaikunth Lok. The messenger conveyed the message given by Lord Shiva to Vishnu. Vishnu accepted the proposal sent by Lord Shiva and became a horse and reached the confluence of Yamuna and Tapas.

Where Laxmi was doing austerity by taking the form of Ashwa. Lakshmi ji was very happy to see Lord Vishnu in the form of a horse. Both started moving around in the form of a horse. After some time, Lakshmi became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful child. In this way, she was freed from her curse and returned to Vaikuntha Lok near Vishnu. The child was born by Lakshmi. Yayati's son Turvasu took the responsibility of that child because he was inferior to his children and was performing a yajna to get a son. He named the child as Hai. Over the years, only the descendants of Haihay are called Haihayavanshi.
