Why did Mohammad Zubair help Pakistani propaganda against India?

New Delhi: BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had recently filed a complaint against Mohammad Zubair, the co-founder of controversial website ALT News, which promoted those who called Team India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh Khalistani. Opposing this, Zubair put up a long wide clean-up post on his Twitter account on Wednesday (September 7, 2022). However, Twitter user 'The Hawk Eye' foiled his plans.

In fact, Zubair claimed that an FIR was lodged against him for "spreading hatred". Zubair sought to counter Sirsa's allegations, saying he had tweeted an hour after Arshdeep dropped catch. He accused @MrSinha_ Twitter handle, saying they too used the word 'Khalistani'. It is worth noting here that Sinha did not call Arshdeep a 'Khalistani'. In fact, Sinha had pointed out that the official Twitter handle of 'Kings XI Punjab' was cheering for the Pakistani team, but he did not call Arshdeep a Khalistani. There was a web archive link to the tweet, but the particular link in the archive link was not archived. Sinha also replied to Zubair, saying he was not talking about Arshdeep, but Kings XI's Twitter handle. Sinha was also trolled on social media because of Zubair's false tweet.

At the same time, Zubair, taking forward his propaganda, claimed that Indians and Pakistanis abused Arshdeep calling him Khalistani. However, Hawk-Eye prominently highlighted how the word Khalistani started being used after Zubair's tweet. The handle shared Zubair's tweet with facts and wrote, "45 minutes before you tweeted this keyword was not trending on social media. You are referring to the right-wing handle in your collage. But why are Google Trends, changes in Wikipedia page, discarding data from Pakistanis and its originator 'Dunya Ch'?"

'The Hawk Eye' has also shared some screenshots with its tweet. It can be clearly seen in the first screenshot that before Zubair's tweet, there were less than 500 tweets using the word Khalistani. But within an hour of Zubair's tweet, the figure crossed 1000 and started increasing rapidly. By 3:30 pm the next day, it crossed 16,000. According to Google Trends Map, Pakistan accounted for 46 per cent of the controversy over spreading the word Khalistani. Apart from this, 20 per cent of the tweets from the UAE, 17 per cent from India and 7 per cent from Qatar were made about this word.

Let us tell you that Pakistani-origin journalist WS Khan had tweeted that Arshdeep can join the Khalistani movement just 3 minutes after the catch is dropped. Apart from this, Pakistani Influencer Osama, who is known by the Twitter handle 'ashaqueens', had said that Arshdeep should support the Khalistani movement, as he can no longer go to India after dropping the catch. This was tweeted just 12 minutes after the catch was dropped. Another important aspect of this entire controversy is that Zubair deliberately searched the word 'Khalistani'. This is confirmed by all his screenshots, in which these words are seen in bold letters. This happens only when you are taking screenshots of tweets from search results on Twitter. In such a situation, the question arises that why did Mohammad Zubair, being an Indian, help in the Pakistani propaganda being run to humiliate India?
