Mumbai: Under the family planning program in Maharashtra, the Uddhav Thackeray government of the state has decided to include a rubber penis with family planning kits. At the same time, the ASHA workers of the state have started protesting against the decision of the Uddhav government to give this 'rubber linga'. In fact, ASHA workers are worried about how to explain to people about sex simulation equipment in villages.

The health department of the state government has taken this decision as part of measures to spread awareness regarding the family planning programme. It is being told that when ASHA workers found a dildo in the family planning kit, at first they were shocked to see it. Department officials have asked ASHA workers to give a demo of the kit. However, no official announcement has been made by the state government regarding Dildo. But ASHA workers across the state are opposing the inclusion of dildos in the family planning kit. Some Asha sisters have no idea about this. In such a situation, it has become a challenge for them to give its demo among the people of the villages.

Let us inform that the discussion on family planning is already a matter of controversy, due to the emphasis on sexual simulation device by the state government, this matter is becoming sensitive. Tabassum Hussain, an activist working for women's rights in the state, strongly condemned the move and termed it as humiliating and shameful. ASHA workers are part of a community of recognized social health workers set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as the National Rural Health Mission of India.
