Lucknow: A woman was strangled to death by her husband in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr. The woman's parents alleged that the husband repeatedly demanded money for drinking alcohol. But his wife refused to give it. After which her husband and in-laws killed her. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
The incident took place in Paharpur village under Kotwali police station. Pramod Kumar has lodged a complaint at the police station. The victim told the police that on March 8, 2007, his 35-year-old sister Mamta Devi was married to Kamal, son of Mohalla Radhanagar. It is alleged that Kamal and other in-laws used to torture Mamta since her marriage. Along with this, they were also demanding dowry.
Pramod Kumar has said that recently, Kamal, an alcoholic, reached home and started demanding money from Mamta. When Mamta refused to give, he along with the family members strangled her to death. The matter was reported by the neighbors. At the same time, on the information of the parents, the police arrested the accused husband. Apart from this, the brother filed a case against his brother-in-law and all others.
