Imphal: The mandate for the Manipur Assembly elections is coming today. The votes of the people for the next government in the state and the instalment of candidates have been captured in the EVMs. The counting of votes has already begun at 8 a.m. After a few hours of counting, the photos will start to be cleared. However, exit polls show the BJP forming the government in Manipur with a huge majority.

Today is judgment day. The counting of votes will begin at 8 am on Thursday. The fate of 60 candidates will be decided. Who will form the government here, the people have sealed it. But it will be revealed a little later. In the 2012 assembly elections, Congress had won 42 seats, while in the 2017 elections, it was reduced to 28. The BJP did not capture a single seat in the 2012 assembly elections, then in 2017, it did well and won 21 seats. Comparing these seats to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 26 seats, while the Congress won 20 seats. The NPF got 11 seats and others got three seats.

Elections have been held in 60 seats in Manipur. The counting has started here. According to the exit polls two days ago, the BJP can capture 33-43 seats with 41 per cent votes here. After this, Congress can be reduced to only 4-8 seats with 18 per cent votes. At the same time, the NPF can get 4-8 seats with 16% of the vote. The NPP can also win 4-8 seats with 8 per cent of the vote. In such a situation, it has to be seen whether Biren Singh is able to bring the BJP back to power or if Congress wins.
