Bhopal: A big problem is going to arise soon for the patients who are getting treatment through the Ayushman Card in Madhya Pradesh. Treatment of patients under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana will be completely stopped in private hospitals from April 15. The United Private Hospital Directors Association has warned the state health department that they will not treat patients under the Ayushman card.

Private hospital operators are angry with the government for the non-payment of treatment on time under the Ayushman Yojana. In a press conference, the association said that the treatment of patients under the Ayushman Yojana in private hospitals has not been paid for the last 7 to 15 months. In such a situation, an economic crisis has arisen in front of the hospitals. For this reason, private hospital operators will completely stop treating patients with an Ayushman card starting at 5 p.m. on April 15. The United Private Hospital Directors Association includes 150 hospitals in Bhopal and 622 across the state. The association says that about 600 to 900 crores of rupees are due for the treatment done with the Ayushman card from about 3 months to 15 months.

Ayushman admits more than 500 IPD patients every day in the hospitals of Bhopal. If, from April 15, treatment with the Ayushman card is stopped, then problems will arise for the patients. The operators say that the Ayushman Yojana started in 2018, when the hospitals signed an MoU with the government. Payment is made within 30 days of uploading the patient's file. In other states, payment is made within 7 to 10 days. Dr. JP Paliwal, patron of the United Private Hospital Directors Association, says that for the last 15 months, payments have not been made in private hospitals at the right time under the Ayushman Yojana. Not only this, the payment has been completely stopped for the last 7 months. Due to non-payment of electricity bills, salaries of employees, bank installments, and hospital rent in hospitals, all work has been stuck.
