Kolkata: In West Bengal, 54 BJP MLAs led by Shubhendu Adhikari met Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday and demanded imposition of President's rule in the state, showing the deteriorating state of law and order in the state. In this regard, BJP has also submitted a memorandum to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar. In the letter given to the governor, BJP leaders have alleged that the governor was treated unfairly in the assembly. Efforts were made to stop them and the same situation is going on in the entire state, where the opponents are being silenced.

BJP leaders said that, therefore, there is a demand for imposition of President's rule in Bengal under Article 356. It is noteworthy that even before this, a demand has been made by the BJP to impose President's rule in Bengal. But in this way, the demand for President's rule has been made for the first time by taking 54 MLAs together in an organized manner. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar also tweeted, alleging that Trinamool Congress (TMC) women MLAs tried to block his path. The marshal disobeyed the instruction of the president. The temple of democracy was destroyed. They are deeply hurt by this.
Actually, on Monday, the budget session in the assembly was about to begin with the address of the governor. But as soon as the Governor started speaking, BJP MLAs in the House started protesting over the issue of post-poll violence. In this way, the governor stopped his speech. This situation continued in the assembly for about an hour. Eventually the governor completed the formality by reading the two-line address and left the assembly. After this, BJP MLAs came out of the assembly, reached the Raj Bhavan while rallying and submitted a memorandum demanding the Governor to impose President's rule in Bengal. However, the governor has not yet clarified whether he will take any step on this demand or not.
