Famous American veterans Williams Sisters Venus and Serena will clash again after one year at the Lexington Open on Thursday. The last match between the two was played at the Rome Open last year, in which Venus won.

40 matches have been played between the two so far, out of which Venus of forty years has won 12 and Serena of 38 has won 18. After nearly six months on the court, Serena won after defeating compatriot Bernard Pera 4-6,6-4, 6-1 after losing the first set in a competition that lasted one hour and 15 minutes.

Venus easily defeated Victoria Azarenka of Belarus 6-3,6-2. In many other matches, young sensation Coco Gough defeated Carolyn Dolehyde 7-5,7-5, Laylah Annie Fernandez to Sloane Stephens 6-3,6-3 and Shelby Rogers to Misaki Doi 6-4,4-6, entered the second round by defeating 6-2.
