New Zealand captain Kane Williamson considers himself lucky to have got the opportunity to play the game with Virat Kohli and said that he has been associated with the Indian captain's cricket journey since his young days.

Both Williamson and Kohli were part of the 2008 ICC Under-19 World Cup played in Malaysia in which India won the title. Now both of them are considered to be the legendary batsmen of this game. Williamson said in Star Sports' Cricket Connected, "Yes, we are lucky to got a chance to play against another. It has been wonderful to meet him in his youth and to follow his progress and cricket journey. In fact, it was the Kohli-led Indian team that defeated Williamson-led New Zealand in the semi-finals at the 2008 U-19 World Cup.

Ravindra Jadeja, Trent Boult and Tim Southee also participated in this World Cup. "It is interesting that we have been playing against each other for a long time," said Williamson. But actually for the past few years we have shared our views on the game. In some respects our views are similar, albeit slightly different in game and field practice. ''
