Wipro Expands North American Presence with Columbus Hydraulics Acquisition

Wipro Hydraulics, a division of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has announced its acquisition of the US-based company, Columbus Hydraulics. This strategic move aims to enhance Wipro's foothold in the North American market. The details of the transaction value were not disclosed.

With this acquisition, Columbus Hydraulics will now operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary under Wipro Infrastructure Engineering. This move aligns with Wipro's strategy to bolster its presence and capabilities in North America.

Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises, emphasized the significance of the acquisition: "Acquiring Columbus Hydraulics strengthens our position and amplifies our manufacturing capabilities in North America. By leveraging Columbus Hydraulics' expertise in customized hydraulic solutions, we aim to offer even more comprehensive services to our customers."

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, highlighted that this acquisition follows the recent acquisition of Mailhot Industries. He noted that this new acquisition will enable Wipro to provide a wider range of hydraulic solutions for various applications.

According to the company, this acquisition of Columbus Hydraulics marks the fifth addition to its hydraulics business and the fourteenth acquisition overall.

Columbus Hydraulics, based in Nebraska, contributes a team of 150 skilled employees and a cutting-edge facility covering 120,000 square feet.

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, headquartered in Bengaluru, is a diversified entity specializing in hydraulics, industrial automation, aerospace, water treatment, and additive manufacturing.
