Islamabad: Pakistan has claimed to have manufactured an indigenous vaccine called PakVac to tackle the global epidemic corona virus. Pakistan hopes to help accelerate vaccination across the country. China has helped Pakistan to manufacture vaccine PakVac. Pakistan announced it on Tuesday. Special Assistant Health Doctor Faisal Sultan said Pak is engaged in overcoming difficult challenges.

He said Pakistan has tried to turn those difficult challenges into opportunities with the help of "friends". He said at the launch ceremony that even though raw material for the vaccine was sourced from China, its manufacture and production was still a difficult task. Dr. Sultan has assured the people of his country that large scale production of vaccine is going to start in the coming days.

Asad Omar, chief of Pakistan's National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) and planning minister there, said 'It is a very important day for Pakistan as the vaccine is launched. He described it as a 'big revolution'. He said the demand for vaccine is very high all over the world, but people in Pakistan are preferring chinese vaccine. The said vaccine has been brought from Pakistan as concentrated and kept at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Islamabad.
