Dubai: According to the Emirates News Agency, 27,000 women currently work in the aviation industry in the United Arab Emirates, accounting for 42% of the workforce.
The number of women working in the industry is rising, according to Mervat Sultan, president of the Middle East Chapter of Women in Aviation, in part due to the organization's proactive and fruitful outreach to female candidates for the profession.
Sultan said, "You need to build a generation first if you want to build your nation," at the 10th Anniversary Conference for Women in Aviation in Dubai. For the sake of society's advancement, women must be given more power.

"Education and training for women are crucial in this regard. The opportunities for employment in aviation need to be made known to both parents and kids.
It was noted by Sultan that "women are in all areas of aviation, not only as pilots; there are more engineers, air traffic controllers, medical, technical, and legal staff."
According to Sheikha Mozah bint Marwan Al-Maktoum, a 1st Lt and pilot with the Dubai Police Air Wing, the gender gap in aviation is still a serious problem that needs to be addressed.
She said she founded Shehana in 2019 to support and empower women in the aviation industry and advance gender equality through local, regional, and global partnerships and collaborations. She made this statement during the keynote address.

Women in the UAE are respected and included, in addition to being heard and seen, according to Sheikha Mozah. Collaboration between sponsors, the government, and organisations that support women in aviation is necessary to improve gender equality.
Boeing has taken steps to support gender equality in the workplace in the UAE, according to Kuljit S. Ghata-Aura, president of Boeing Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
"In December 2022, we signed a pledge with 15 other UAE-based private sector companies pledging to increase the representation of women in leadership positions to 30% by the year 2025 in order to hasten the advancement of gender equality in the UAE's workforce.
This pledge provided us with a crucial chance to intensify our efforts and align them with the UAE's agenda for gender equality.

Due to improvements in hiring and retention strategies, Ghata-Aura stated that the percentage of women working for Boeing has increased to 24.6% globally.
The CEO of Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, Suzanne Al-Anani, received the Innovative Leader Award in Women in Aviation, one of many prominent and successful people who were recognised for their accomplishments during the conference.
