KIEV: Speaking at a virtual World Bank meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined "five tasks" that must be taken immediately in the aftermath of Russia's ongoing conflict with Kiev.

The first step, according to the President, is quick support for Ukraine, "so that the Russian leadership understands that the war will not allow them to achieve any of their aggressive ambitions." He said,

"Second, Russia must be immediately excluded from all international financial institutions."

In the third phase, Zelensky stated that Ukraine needs a special tax to pay for the war, adding that "Russia, and any aggressor after it, must pay for violating global security."

"Fourth, every country in the world must now prepare for the eventual abolition of all ties with Russia. Fifth, the Russian government's assets and representatives from the Russian elite have already been frozen "Added the President.

The Ukrainian president further said that Russia's invasion was endangering world food supplies.

As per BBC, Russia's embargo of Ukrainian Black Sea port cities has made it hard for the country to export food supplies like as wheat.  Due to serious "economic losses" caused by the war, the President noted, Ukraine now requires around USD 7 billion every month, up from the UD 5 billion Kiev had previously stated.
