India's female boxer Manju Rani has made her place in the semi-finals of the AIBA World Boxing Championship. With this, another medal of India is confirmed. Indian boxer Manju Rani defeated Kim Hyang Mi of North Korea in the quarterfinals of the 48 kg category.

On Thursday the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships quarterfinal match played between Manju Rani and North Korean star boxer Kim Hyang Mi lasted a long time, defeating the best seeded Kim Hyang by 4-1 and she won another medal for India. Earlier, Mary Kom, who had won the competition most times, has also reached the semi-finals. This will be Manju's first medal.
