Let us share that Anand paid a heartfelt tribute to his father K Viswanathan who passed away on Thursday in Chennai after a brief illness. The 51-year-old in a series of tweets has recalled how his father used to travel with him sub-junior world championships, adding that he owes so much to him.
Here it is needed to mention that Viswanathan Anand wrote, "My father K.Viswanathan passed away on April 15 after a brief illness. Being in Chennai for many months gave me the chance to visit him often. I owe so much to him. My mother played a bigger role in my chess career, but my father was an enthusiastic and fervent supporter."
Along with this message Anand thanked his fans and former colleagues of his father for standing alongside his family in this tough time. The chess maestro also recalled how his father, who retired as General Manager of Southern Railway, called himself the first 'GM' (Grand Master) of the family.
