AR Rahman is in limelight for composing the music of the movie 'Fire'. Fire was a romantic film in the year 1996. Shabana Azmi and Deepa Mehta appeared in the lead roles in the movie. It was India's first movie based on a lesbian relationship. There was a lot of politics in that period regarding the movie. After years, he has given a statement regarding this movie. He said that he keeps his thinking separate from the politics of the movie. He also said that he does not say yes to any movie until he feels that it is conveying an important message.

Along with this statement, AR Rahman's old statement regarding movies going from India to Oscar Awards has become a topic of discussion. AR Rahman has won an Oscar for the composition of the song 'Jai Ho' from the movie Slumdog Millionaire. He said in a statement during the 95th Academy Awards held in March that India always sends wrong films to the Oscars.

AR Rahman is one of the biggest names in the world of music. His soulful creations and music have fans all over the world. He is called the Mozart of Madram. He had said that India always sends wrong movies to the Oscars. Because of this, it is not able to get the nomination. He said that in order to be successful in the Oscars, one needs to understand the test of the western audience.

 

Wrong films are being sent to Oscars: AR Rahman said in a chat show with L Subramaniam, “Sometimes, I see that our films go to Oscars but they do not win it. Wrong films are being sent for Oscars. And I don't like it. We need to think like them. I will have to stay in my place to see what they i.e. filmmakers and audiences of western countries are doing.
