On Sunday, April 7, WWE have announced that it will be holding the second annual Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35. A host of women wrestlers from Raw, SmackDown Live and NXT will take part in the match. It is the women’s equivalent of the Andre the Giant Men’s Battle Royal. A competitor will be eliminated once they are thrown over the top rope and both of their feet touch the floor. The last woman remaining will be the victor. WWE in a statement said “Last year's inaugural WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal left Naomi feeling the Glow when she emerged victorious in the groundbreaking match on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Will she make it two in a row? Or will another Superstar be determined enough to battle through the bedlam and propel herself into the spotlight?”.

Here it is to be noted that although WWE have announced several women for the match but still the whole roster for the 30 Women’s Battle Royal is not out. The women superstars confirmed for the Battle Royal are -Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, Lana, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Mickie James and Zelina Vega. So it is clear that WWE had no plans for Asuka for this year’s WrestleMania as she is thrown into the Battle Royal after losing her SmackDown Live Women’s Championship.

However, it is to be noted that WrestleMania 35 will take place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on April 7. This year it is going to be historic as it is the first time that women would be headlining WrestleMania. And one of the women main-eventing the “Shows of Shows” is the superstar who beat Asuka for the title. It has been long rumoured that WWE is not thinking about giving a major match to the “Empress of Tomorrow” and now the speculation has been confirmed by this news. Asuka lost her title to Charlotte Flair on the last episode of SmackDown Live, just 12 days before WrestleMania 35.
