The social media account (X) of Iraqi Christian Salwan Momika, known for publicly burning copies of the Quran, has also been banned in India and Pakistan. The X account has revealed that the person's account has also been banned in both countries in response to legal demands. This is perhaps one of the rare occasions when X has revealed the account being closed in both India and Pakistan. However, there is not much information about why his account was banned. However, Momika's controversial history gives a hint as to why X may have banned him in both India and Pakistan.

X has informed that Salwan Momika's account has been closed in India and Pakistan. It is being said that Salwan Momika is a 38-year-old Iraqi immigrant who arrived in Sweden in April 2018 and was granted refugee status in April 2021. Reports say that he is a former Iraqi military leader who was part of the pro-Iran organization Popular Mobilization Forces. According to the information received so far, he presents himself as an atheist, enlightened politician, thinker and novelist on social media. However, he came into the limelight when he set the Quran on fire in front of Stockholm's main mosque on June 28, 2023, the first day of the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha.

Not only this, he placed pieces of ham on the Quran and stamped on it with his foot, and mocked it by repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar”. The performance was criticized worldwide, including by Turkey, which blocked Sweden's NATO membership. However, Sweden becomes a member of NATO in March 2024. Reports say that the
noteworthy thing is that Momika performed this only after the Swedish authorities gave her permission to do so, and a judge also gave her this privilege based on Sweden's free speech principles.

Momika kicked and crushed a copy of the Muslim holy book outside the Iraqi embassy after a protest in Stockholm. But he did not burn it. He has said he was protesting against Islam and for freedom of expression. His actions have angered many Muslims and have since sparked protests in various countries.

Then in October 2023, during the war between Israel and Hamas, activist Salwan Momika expressed his solidarity with the Jewish nation by stepping on the Quran and waving the Israeli flag. The same incident was seen again in Stockholm on October 21, while more recently, in April 2024, several rumors were spread claiming that Momika had been found. However, the controversial protester revealed that he was alive and was considered a threat to "national security" due to his strong stance against Islamic traditions and was imprisoned in Norway.

Salwan continued, "The newspapers and news sites in Norway that published the news of my death are false and their goal is to scare all those who doubt or condemn Islam. Therefore, I speak out that your rumors and false media will not be able to scare us. I am alive and am not going to surrender despite the injustice done to me by the Norwegian authorities," he was quoted as saying in a separate post that is now unavailable due to 'legal demands'.

Furthering his point, he said that "When I got there, they immediately arrested me and confiscated my phone. They prevented me from talking to anyone and then they took me to court, where the court charged me with the following: "You are detained because you pose a threat to Norway's national security." The stupid old judge seemed to be a fan of Islam, so I told him that neither your imprisonment nor your courts will be able to scare me," Momika further wrote after his arrest in Norway.

Salman Momika:  Momika says he was dragged and held in a "secret prison" that was neither monitored by human rights organizations nor received media coverage. Later, he said the incident reminded him of Saddam Hussein's "oppressive dictatorship." He has also said Norway is "ruled by idiots and idiots who love Islam," which he will discuss in his upcoming book. The latest information on the case suggests Momika will face trial in Stockholm.
