X (formerly known as Twitter) is making significant alterations, including the removal of article headlines when sharing links, following Elon Musk's call for journalists to directly publish content on the platform to increase their earnings.
On X, posts containing news articles will now display solely the main image and the URL, omitting both the headline and the accompanying text. Musk conveyed this change, stating, "This is coming directly from me. It will greatly enhance the visual appeal."
In an earlier statement, Musk urged journalists seeking greater writing freedom and higher income to "publish directly on this platform!" One of his followers responded by requesting improved tools for this purpose.
In a new development, Musk is advocating for X to implement a news article format that showcases only the main image and the source URL, with the image still functioning as a hyperlink to the full article. This adjustment aims to reduce the vertical space occupied by individual posts, enabling users' timelines to accommodate more content.
A different X user expressed their opinion on this update, highlighting the importance of having a clear idea of the content before clicking on it. They commented, "While your past changes have indeed benefited the platform and its users, even those I initially doubted, I'm skeptical about this particular modification being a good idea."
X's recent changes involve the omission of article headlines when sharing links, as encouraged by Elon Musk's invitation to journalists to publish directly on the platform for increased earnings. This move aligns with Musk's goal to refine the platform's aesthetics and potentially enhance user experience.
