Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath made a big announcement on Thursday, saying that the state government would organize programs in honour of the freedom fighters who martyred between 1857 and 1947, and the soldiers who martyred in a post-independence war.

Inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the Chauri-Chaura event in Gorakhpur on Thursday, CM Yogi said that on this occasion, the police band will play patriotic songs at the memorial, while Kavi symposium and Deepotsav will also be organized. He said, "On important dates related to the freedom struggle, a special program will be organized at the Shaheed Smarak. Debates, painting, essay writing competitions will also be organized in schools. ?

In yesterday's program, CM Yogi also honored the families of freedom fighters and provided 100 tri-cycles to physically challenged people. As a tribute to the people who lost their lives in the historic Chauri-Chaura incident, CM Adityanath removed his picture from his official Twitter handle and posted the picture of this historic event as DP. Officials said it was the first time a CM had removed his photo from his official Twitter handle.
