Lucknow: After the massive return of the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh, now the action against corrupt officers has intensified. Sonbhadra District Magistrate TK Shibu has been suspended for illegal mining and non-sealing of postal ballots during assembly elections. Along with this, a departmental inquiry has been set up on DM. The commissioner of Varanasi has been entrusted with the investigation of the entire matter.

In a statement issued by the government, it has been said that complaints of corruption in mining and other construction work against District Magistrate TK Shibu have been made on behalf of the public representatives. Negligence was done by not sealing the postal ballot paper in the assembly elections, due to which the situation of cancellation of polling of the entire district was created. The government has said that this matter was investigated by the commissioner of Vindhyachal Mandal, in which DM TK Shibu was found guilty. For this reason, he is suspended. Along with this, the Commissioner of Varanasi Division is made the Investigating Officer for investigation in departmental proceedings. TK Shibu has been attached to the Revenue Council.

Earlier the UP government had transferred four IPS officers. ADG Navneet Sekera from Police Headquarters has been sent to the post of ADG PTS Unnao. ADG Ravi Joseph Lokku, General Staff Officer (GSO) of the Director-General of Police has been made ADG Vigilance Establishment.
