Lucknow: MP-MLA court summons has reached the house of Sanjay Nishad, a minister in the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh. Sanjay Nishad is the head of the Nishad Party and is also a minister in the Yogi government of UP. Earlier, a non-bailable warrant was also issued against Sanjay Nishad from the Gorakhpur CJM court. According to the summons, Shahpur police were asked to produce Sanjay Nishad before the court on August 10. Now the MP-MLA court has also issued a summons in this case.

In fact, this case was of the year 2015, when a sit-in demonstration was organized at a place called Kasarwal in Sahjanwa, Gorakhpur. This sit-in protest was about 5 per cent reservation for Nishads in government jobs. During the dharna, there was a fierce ruckus and one person was also killed. After which a case was registered in this regard. Now, in this case, MP-MLA Court No.2 has issued summons to UP Government Minister Dr Sanjay Nishad.

In 2015, members of the Nishad community sat on a protest against the then Akhilesh Yadav government, demanding that they be given a 5 per cent reservation in jobs. In the whole case, Nishads from many districts of the state had gathered at the protest site in thousands. During this time, the agitating Nishads damaged the train track with the aim of obstructing the railway track and the agitators sat on the railway track with cots, after which the police removed them after a lot of struggle.
