KIEV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he has addressed US President Joe Biden's support for Ukraine.
After the meeting, Zelensky tweeted, "Talked about particular defence support, a new package of strengthened sanctions, macro-financial and humanitarian relief." The situation on the battlefield in Ukraine and diplomatic efforts to resolve the issue were also discussed during the hour-long conversation, according to Zelensky.
The White House claimed Biden and Zelensky discussed providing "military, economic, and humanitarian support" to Ukraine as well as implementing sanctions on Russia in a statement released on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Biden also reminded Zelensky that the US planned to offer the Ukrainian government with USD500 million in direct budgetary aid and discussed the extra sanctions and humanitarian relief announced last week.
